호주의 한 도서관 이야기입니다.
도서관에는 리딩독이라고 책을 읽을 때,
옆에서 가만히 들어주는 개가 있는데요.
한 학생이 이 리딩독 소식을 듣고, 도서관을 방문해 리딩독에게 책을 읽어주고,
그 일이 너무 재미있어, 다음에 또 가겠다고 얘기하고 있습니다.
동물매개치료 프로그램 중에도 이렇게 리딩독에게 책을 읽어주는 프로그램이 있는 것 같은데요,
누군가 내 옆에 앉아 내가 읽어주는 책을 귀기울여 들어준다는 것!
정말 듬직한 친구가 옆에 있는 듯한 느낌이지 않을까요?
책읽기 싫어하는 어린이와 청소년에게는
더 없이 좋은 독서 권장법이기도 하겠습니다.
